Mercury (parad) is also known as quicksliver or flowing metal. The glory of parad shivlinga has been stated in the Puranas,Shastras and Tantra etc.
It is said to be the semen (seed) of Lord Shiva. To contain or bind mercury is very difficult, that too by medicinal herbs only.
Parad Shivling is made of Mercury and silver and is very solid and heavy. DakshinaVarti Shankh
A majority of conch shells open on the left side, i.e., they are formed anti-clockwise. In contrast, those that open on the right side, i.e., formed clockwise, are rare, but very auspicious to keep in homes. These are expensive. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi resides permanently in white conch shells that open on the right side (Dakshinavarti shankh). Both, Goddess Lakshmi and the right-sided conch shell have their origin in the sea and are believed to have the same father. According to ancient scriptures , there is a story behind Heera shankh. Long back old poor lady named Heera-ujawala used to stay in a village at North East India, earlier River Ganges used to flow there. She was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. Once there was an epidemic that spread in the village and the villagers were dying. Her two sons and their wives too came in the grip of that epidemic and caught the disease. To save the lives of her sons, daughters in law and the rest of the inmates of the village and bring the prosperity again in the village She was told in her dream to do fasting and worship of Laxmi Narayan. Since she was an ardent devotee and was doing very severe penance to please Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi, Lord Vishnu appeared and promised her that very soon the village will be free from all epidemic and all affected village inmates will soon be blessed with good health. But to bring prosperity she was advised to worship Dakshinavarty Laxmi Shankh as Goddess Laxmi can be pleased easily with the worship of Dakshinavarty Shankh. With the blessing of Lord Vishnu very soon the village was free from diseases. Heeraujawala continued her penance to please Goddess Laxmi. While she was performing the penance, it is said that very heavy rains started and the water from the ocean started overflowing and one strong wave of ocean unlit the ‘Agni Jwala’(the fire which was lit to undertake the yajna) and destroyed the complete place and taken away all ‘Ahutis’ and donations like fruits, utensils etc. along with the wave itself to the ocean. This made the Heera-ujawala very sad and in the rage of anger she cursed that the place used immediately be relieved of ocean and become plain. Shaligram About Shaligram
Shree Saligrams is considered the direct symbol of Lord Vishnu, They are found only in Mukti chhetra and Damodar Kunda (north-west of Nepal). According to the religious text of Devi Bhagwate (and other scriptures) to kill demon Jalandhar Lord Vishnu have to destroy Sati Brindha’s sati dharma. When he did that Sati Brindha gave four seeming desecrations to Lord Vishnu to become stone, grass, tree, plant. To wash away this reaction Lord Vishnu took four avatars (incarnations). He became stone (Shree Saligram) grass (kush) tree (Pipal) and plant (Tulsi). Since this time the Saligrams are considered to be most auspicious to behold and to worship. The worshipper knows no fear and by Shree Saligram’s mercy the worshipper is blessed to attain all desirable things; worldly comforts, good wife, good sons, good health and wealth etc. It is all by the blessings of Lord Mahavishnu that His pastimes are being served. In these jungles one can find a plant known as ” BIRVAH ” which has blue and white coloured flowers and which is similar to the Dhatura plant.If one digs carefully on Sunday, the earth near the roots of this plant Will reveal two small sized branches. At that place one will find branches which look like a hand having fingers or those which look like two hands joined together in prayer. This branch is cut and separated, and is called HATHA JORI in Tantra. Hatha Jodi is small in size about 1.5″ – 2.0″ and equally broad. One can see two stems joined together distinctly (gives a feel of two hands). After taking it out, it is immersed in seasmum Til oil. Shri Yantra Meaning
Shri Yantra or Shree Yantra is considered as the queen of all yantras that are present in Hindu vedic astrology. Shri Yantra is the symbolic representation of mysterious mountain known as Mahameru, which is considered as the center of the entire Universe and guarded by eight mountains. Meaning of Shree is ‘wealth; and Yantra is ‘instrument’ so Shree Yantra is the instrument of wealth. Shri yantra is one of the most powerful yantra that fulfills the worldly need of wealth and prosperity by using the cosmic power and mental strength. We all are surrounded by some sort of negative energy which some times is so large that it does not let the positive energy work for us. Shri Yantra removes the negative energy, solves our problems and helps us to gain peace, wealth and harmony in life. Shree Yantra Placement or Sthapana
You can place Shree Yantra in home, office and even in your vehicle to bring good luck. Shri Yantra is always installed on Friday one hour after sunrise. To be more specific Shree Yantra is placed in North-East or East direction of the home with the tip of the Yantra facing east direction.
- Place Yantra in a plate and wash it with water, milk and saffron. Again wash is with water.
- Light incense and chant “Aing Hreeng Namah” and sprinkle water where you want to keep the Shri Yantra.
- Put the yellow cloth or sheet of gold or silver where you want to place Shri Yantra. Now put your yantra on it.
- Take kum kum or sandal paste and coral mala. Place it on the yantra.
- You can now offer the Shree Yantra some Gur (jaggery), yellow flower, raw turmeric and incense.
- Take the lotus seed rosary and chant the Shri Yantra Mantra for 108 times.
- After completing these place red cloth on the Shree Yantra.
You will have to worship Shree Yantra on every Friday by offering Gur, incense and yellow flower. For this pick up the red cloth and perform the Shri Yantra puja. On the rest of the days you can just pick the red cloth up to get the glimpse of the Yantra or Darshan
